Looking back...

We've come a long way...

In the past few years Mini Hearts has grown from a dream to a functioning entity with your help! Our initial $2500.00 funding was allocated for our Executive Director (Sheryl) to receive the proper training to do this important work. We also recieved a $1000.00 grant which was used to put up fencing and gates. We were thrilled to get many "in kind" donations which were spent on the upkeep and vet care for the minis. We also received a used Dodge Caravan Mini Van for transporting the boys to their visits! Mini Hearts assembled a strong and capable Board of Directors in 2006. Our Board meets Monthly  to discuss ideas and resources that will help grow our program and make sure that Mini Hearts remains an integral part of our community throughout the coming years.

Looking ahead...

We look forward to the coming years with great enthusiasm! Seeing all the smiles these tiny horses bring keeps us moving ahead. One of the additions and improvements we hope to accomplish is expanding the Mini Hearts property so that we can rescue neglected miniature horses and miniature donkeys. This coming year we hope to acquire more land, and build a larger barn to accomodate these sick and injured horses. We will also add a wash facility to keep our visitation horses well groomed for their appointments. Another key improvement is the addition of split rail and farm fencing which will greatly expand our grazing pasture. Our administration office will be adding the needed tools as well. (see our wish list here... Wish List)

Mini Hearts will step up it's fund raising efforts in a big way in 2009. We have an experienced grant writer on our Board and plan on taking full advantage of his skills. There are plans in the works for a large fundraiser in the Spring. We'll post the dates on the "Mini Hearts News" section of this site.

Most importantly, we plan on keeping our visits FREE of charge!

Donations are the only way we can make this happen.

STAY TUNED... the best is yet to come!
